What was your version of teenage rebellion?
Brought to you by the movie Georgia Rule.
My parents got off lucky. I rebelled by reading, learning, and hiding from people my own age as much as I could. I really didn't fit in at school so I sequestered myself and had contests to see how many pages I could read during a week. The following week I would try to break it. So this resulted in me staying up late reading by flashlight.
Although, my senior year I was bored to tears in some of my classes so I would skip them and hang out and watch daytime television at a friend's house. She didn't have cable and we really weren't friends since she wanted to get stoned and I didn't. So it worked for her cause I was sober I could hear if her mom was coming and she didn't require much interaction from me so I was able to channel surf and read and chill out and drink Fanta soda instead of sitting in my remedial level classes that I was way too smart for and therefore bored. Luckily for me, there was a freshman boy who had a crush on me and he would delete my name from the absentee list every day. That was awesome, but I never really appreciated him or thanked him cause I thought it was kinda weird that he, the cute skateboarder, would have a crush on me.

In the haunted house of love, art is the only stair that doesn't creak.
Who or what do you really love?
My guy. Who totally gets my sense of humor. I mean not everyone one would get misty over a Valentine's Day card with an armadillo on it.
And sushi. I love my sushi/You got to love your sushi
What's on your "do before I die" list?
Submitted by Caroline.
Travel to Italy (I'll be the first member in my family to leave the hemisphere)
Learn to knit holding yarn in both hands at the same time
Read every book I own (which probably means I'll just keep buying books because I'm afraid if this happens I will die)
Live in New Orleans for at least a little while
Learn how to inset an invisible zipper in a skirt and make the rest of the skirt
Make a bag for Ani Difranco (I should just do this and mail it to her)
Make a dish that tastes so good I cry
Keep letting everyone in my life know I love them so in case I go unexpectedly they have no doubts how I felt about them
Make a will (really oughta do this one)
What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?

In mid-April 1998, I walked into a hair salon. I had hair that was so long I sat on it. It was always getting tangled in seat cushions, wrapped around things behind me, blown in my face, blown in other people's faces and I was getting sick of it but nervous about getting it cut because it had been long since I was 5 (I was 26 at this time). I was working in a commercial photo lab and it was my responsibility to expose some sheets of film and process them first thing every morning. I was standing in the completely darkened room, loading the sheets of film into their metal bracket and I leaned forward to get the rack on the pulley system when just a few hairs got caught in the gear on the machine. I was instantly worried that I was going to get a chunk of my scalp ripped off so I fumbled (in complete darkness) for the scissors and cut the hair off when it was two inches from my head. Thankfully it was just a few hairs. Thankfully the machine had 30 second pauses between bursts of action. After leaving the room I called the salon where Andrew got his hair cut and made an appointment for the next day.
I arrived and this snarky, grumpy, rocker guy looked at my hair (my long-ass hippie do, as he called it) and asked me what I wanted. I said I wanted to go short. He said "How short?" I said I have a lot of cowlicks (I pointed them out) and said as short as you can and not have me look like Alfalfa's sister. "And!" I said, "And I want my hair to be the color of a glass of bordeaux." He promptly put my hair in a ponytail, snugged the elastic against the base of my skull and cut the hair between the band and my head. In 30 seconds I went from having 3 feet of hair to having stubble on the back of my head.
It was great!
How do you eat your pizza: folded, flat or with a fork and knife?
Submitted by danimass.
Since I live in Chicago, its with a fork and knife most of the time. Sometimes we get pizza that is thin crusted and I eat that flat. I never had the need to fold pizza in half till I got a slice in New York. And growing up in Ohio it always came cut into squares so we fought over the "corners" and ate them flat. And occasionally when we order a pizza at a bar, it gets cut with a coaster and we eat it with our hands even though we should use a fork and consequently we get pizza sauce and grease all over our beer glasses. But the bartender doesn't mind because we share.

The magnolia trees that bloom in New Orleans. Flowers the size of your face that you can just bury yourself in. It's like sex, joy, love, giddiness, and satiation all in one sniff.

Do you play any musical instruments?
Hahaha! Nope!
I can't even tell what instruments are being used during a song unless I'm watching the musician as they play. But I like music even though I can't dissect it, don't know what the difference is between harmony and melody, and can't carry a tune well enough to sing karaoke.
What's the last thing you crafted, constructed or created yourself?
That's easy. I make something everyday.
Having a small business where I make handbags means that I'm literally always making one. I currently have 5 bgs that are partly finished and I'm waiting on orders for small items to come in so I can finish them. So I feel like I'm getting nowhere, but once UPS gets friendly with my mailroom guy, then I'm all productive all the time!
