there's nothing to see here...
If you are a friend here on vox, you can see the post that will tell you where I've moved.
If you are a friend in real life or in other places, you know alternate ways to get in touch with me and you can ask me where I've moved.
If we are not friends, maybe one day we will be.
How many email addresses do you have? What are they for?
Submitted by clippedwings.
Let's see...there's my work email, that's one.
My yahoo email, that is now my personal/newsletter email addy...that's two.
I have 2 gmail accounts, one for my professional stuff (activism, writing, and my 'professional' blogging life)...that's four.
I also have an account with my alumni association that I check a few times a year.
I also have one that is for my DSL that is attached to a Flickr account that I never read.
There's also an email account that is then pointed to my yahoo account and my partner's hotmail account. If we could the last two, I have six email accounts to keep on top of.
Of course, the harder job is to keep on top of the now SIX blogs that I write for. This one, my other personal one, three group blogs, and a new one that is linked to my two 'professional' blogging sites. Oy...of course this one is so neglected that it's definitely the ugly duckling of the group.
In theory I should have a great relationship with my dad. In theory. Wonderful articles like this one just makes me feel worse that my relationship with him sucks.
How f'd up is it that Father's Day makes me miss my mom even more?
Fathers and daughters have much to talk about, worlds to share. Learning to hit a curve ball or make the smart career move--once largely the arena of fathers and sons--is now fully and joyfully open to fathers and daughters. Thank Title IX for giving girls the opportunity to not only compete in sports, but to aspire to compete at the highest level. Thank equal opportunity for giving young women the ability to enter the professions and climb up organizations in numbers equal to men.
I guess I'll just suck it up and focus on celebrating my partner and all he does for our child.
It is so necessary for a happy life, but always just out of my reach.
What are your top 5 movies/DVDs of 2006?
The sad thing is that I can barely think of 5 movies that I saw in 2006. Seriously, I just tried and I came up with 4 - 3 of them are kids movies. I guess my 2007 resolution should be to get out more and act like an adult and not a parent.
It is seriously tough to act like an adult when you're a parent. Heck, I invested 9 months into gestating my child, I'm not going to screw it up now! And I really do love taking her to the movies. Oh, well! There will be time to be an adult in 15 years.
I guess the real question is does anyone care?
I didn't really think that this Vox thing would take off for me. And clearly by ignoring this blog, it just can't.
I think at work I'm feeling so overwhelmed that I can't do anything. You know that feeling when you know you're getting buried with work and just can't seem to get anything done? That's what I've been for a few weeks.
Of course, I am getting things done.
I guess I'm just babbling because I want to post something, but don't know what to say.
I just can't wait for my week off between Xmas and NYE. It'll be nice to have some time to myself...as much as one can have with a child running around. Oh well! later.
Thus ends the world's worst blog post...ever.
What's your favorite foreign accent?
I'm a sucker for a real Australian accent :) even if half the time I can't make it out. :)
What's up?
Not much. Another Sunday,
another day of sloth while watching football. Is it sloth, if I jump up
from the couch every 5 minutes yelling at the TV?
What's your motto?
If you can't be good....be good at it!!!
What books are on your nightstand?
I don't really have a nightstand...ha!
But I'm reading Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance by Barack Obama. It was a slow read for the first few chapters, but then it got really interesting.
